Here at Electri-Cord, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of quality and excellence in all aspects of our work.

Our History

Our story of innovation began in 1946 when Charles Wexler founded a small power cord company in Brooklyn, NY. Jerry Samuels took over as president in 1963 and moved the company to Westfield, PA, where it grew into a leading supplier of power cords for the medical industry.

In 1972, TFI purchased Electri-Cord, which was later acquired by Leucadia in 1982. Management remained in local hands, and the company formed a strategic alliance with one of the largest cord manufacturers in Asia to enhance customer service and offerings.

In 1997, Mitch Samuels acquired Electri-Cord from Leucadia, ushering a period of intense growth and transformation. In 2000, we established a factory in Guadalajara, MX, and purchased ECW, followed by several acquisitions in subsequent years, including Power Cabling, Black Electric, Berquist Cord division, and Berquist EAB.

Today, Electri-Cord has evolved from a power cord manufacturing company to a major supplier of wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and high-level assemblies for some of the largest corporations in the world. As we continue to seek out strategic relations with global partners, each new opportunity brings additional core capabilities and competitive advantages that enable us to better power your innovation.
